Questions

How does Green Olive Tapenade differ in flavor from black olive tapenade?
Green olives tend to bring a brighter, fresher character, so this tapenade is a good choice when you want a lively savory accent.
What should I serve with Green Olive Tapenade?
Pair it with goat cheese, feta, fresh mozzarella, crostini and crackers, or add it to an antipasto platter with cured meats and vegetables.
Can I use Green Olive Tapenade in a meal?
Yes. Toss a spoonful with pasta, spread it inside a chicken or turkey sandwich, or use it over fish, chicken or roasted vegetables for a quick Mediterranean-style finish.
Where would I use your spreads and relishes?
We aim for versatility of use in everything that we make, and this is definitely the case with our savory spreads. Our tapenades and Three Cheese Artichoke Dip are delicious spread straight on a cracker or as a dip for crudités and pretzels, nothing else required. They're also a healthy base for flatbreads and pizza, or a pasta sauce. Caramelized Onion & Garlic Jam and Pepper Bacon Relish pair beautifully with cheese and charcuterie, make a flavorful base for cooking sauces, are delicious baked into cornbread and serve as well-loved side-of-plate condiments. Our Sweet & Hot Jalapeños are irresistible on everything, from nachos and all things Tex-Mex to pizzas and salads.
What spreads work well on a cheese or charcuterie board?
Olive tapenades, savory jams, relishes, and dips can all add contrast to cheese and cured meats. Green or Black Olive Tapenade, Caramelized Onion & Garlic Jam, Pepper Bacon Relish, and Three Cheese Artichoke Dip give you very different savory directions for a board.
Are all of the dips and spreads vegetarian?
No. The collection includes products with different dietary profiles: Pepper Bacon Relish is the one product in our portfolio which contains meat, and Three Cheese Artichoke Dip contains dairy. Full details can be found on individual product pages.
How long do unopened jarred dips and spreads last?
Most of our products are shelf-stable for up to two years when unopened. Our Three Cheese Artichoke Dip has a shelf life of 12 months from date of production. We recommend storing all of our jars in a cool, dry place.
Do jarred dips, tapenades, relishes, and spreads need refrigeration?
They are shelf-stable while unopened, but should be refrigerated after opening and consumed within 3 to 4 weeks.
Are all New Canaan Farms dips and spreads gluten-free?
Yes. For detailed ingredient and nutrition information please check for specific ingredients on the individual product pages.
Is New Canaan Farms a nut-free facility?
No. We use pecans and almonds in some products, so our facility is not nut-free. Cooking equipment is thoroughly steam-cleaned and sanitized between cooks, but customers with allergies should always review the individual label.
