Ingredients

Serve With: Kettle chips, roasted potatoes, or a simple green salad.

Directions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Rub the steak with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and generously coat both sides with New Canaan Farms Wood Fired Steak Rub. Let rest at room temperature for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to settle into the meat.
  2. Add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil to the skillet. Place the steak in the hot pan and cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side for medium rare, or until your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise and stir together the mayonnaise and New Canaan Farms Wholegrain Mustard.
  4. For assembly, spread the mustard/mayo mixture, New Canaan Farms and Caramelized Onion & Garlic Jam and then add the steak and a slice of cheese.
  5. Place the assembled sandwiches on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 4 to 6 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the rolls are lightly crisp on the outside but still soft inside.
  6. Remove from the oven, top with fresh arugula, and serve immediately while warm.
