Caramelized Onion & Garlic Crostini with Whipped Goat Cheese

Caramelized Onion & Garlic Crostini with Whipped Goat Cheese

Warm, toasty, and layered with rich flavor, these crostini are everything we love about easy entertaining. Creamy whipped goat cheese meets the deep, savory sweetness of our Caramelized Onion & Garlic Jam, finished with a ribbon of prosciutto and a hint of rosemary. They make the kind of appetizer that disappears quickly…so you may want to double the batch.

Serves: About 20 crostini
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 baguette, sliced ½ inch thick
  • ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for finishing
  • 8 oz. goat cheese, softened
  • 2–3 Tbsp. cream or milk
  • 4–6 oz. thinly sliced prosciutto
  • 1 cup New Canaan Farms Caramelized Onion & Garlic Jam
  • Fresh rosemary, to garnish
  • Flaky sea salt, optional

Serve With: A cheese board or holiday grazing spread

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and position a rack about 6 inches from the top.
  2. Arrange the baguette slices on two baking sheets. Brush both sides lightly with olive oil and bake for 10 minutes, flipping halfway, until lightly golden and crisp.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the goat cheese with a splash of cream and stir until smooth, soft, and spreadable.
  4. If desired, warm the Caramelized Onion & Garlic Jam in a small saucepan over low heat to loosen it.
  5. Spread each warm crostini with whipped goat cheese. Add a small ribbon of prosciutto and a spoonful of Caramelized Onion & Garlic Jam.
  6. Finish with a drizzle of olive oil, a sprinkle of fresh rosemary, and flaky sea salt if you like. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Other variations to try: Swap prosciutto for crisp bacon crumbles. Use Honey Texas Pecans in place of rosemary for a sweet–savory twist.
