Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp vanilla extract
11/2 cups plain flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp cornstarch
1 jar New Canaan Farms Strawberry Almond Jam
SERVE WITH:
Fresh strawberries, and whipped cream
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°
- Cream together the butter and sugar until well combined, light and fluffy
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract with a small amount of the flour to prevent curdling
- Mix in the remaining flour, with the cornstarch and baking powder
- Form the mixture into a dough, adding a little extra flour if the mixture is too sticky
- Pull off sections of the dough and roll into dough balls. Place these on a baking sheet and flatten them slightly
- Gently press thumbs or fingers (joined at the bottom) down into each ball to create a heart shape, and fill each with New Canaan Farms Strawberry Almond Jam (warm the jam in a microwave for 10 seconds to make it slightly more runny)
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until light golden brown
- Allow to cool, pile on a plate and enjoy with your loved ones!
