Ingredients
1 pork butt roast or shoulder roast (4-6 lbs)
1 tbsp ground cumin
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp ground pepper
½ cup brown sugar
1 large onion, diced
1 bottle New Canaan Farms Texas Grilling & BBQ Sauce
Serve with
Hamburger buns or a baked potato, with tomatoes and salad or coleslaw
Directions
- Either pork shoulder or Boston Butt work great with this recipe! Remove from packaging and pat with a paper towel
- Mix together the dry spices and sugar, then rub all over the pork
- Place pork in your crock pot and scatter the onions around
- Pour over the bottle of New Canaan farms Texas Grilling & BBQ Sauce
- Leave to cook all day! On high, 5-6 hours; on low, 8-10 hours. Enjoy the fabulous aromas!
- When ready to serve, shred the oh-so-tender pork with two forks, stir in the remaining BBQ sauce and stir to combine. You can siphon off any fat that is on the surface before shredding, or just mix it in. Serve as a sandwich in hamburger buns, or over a baked potato for a zero stress, family favorite.
