Ingredients
2 slices of bread of your choice, we like sourdough, baguette and brioche
1/2 cup New Canaan Farms Cherry Preserves
2 cups whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
2 tbsp lemon juice
3/4 tsp salt
1 cheesecloth
SERVE WITH:
Hot coffee, iced tea or a cool glass of wine
Directions
- A super-simple recipe that will give you great satisfaction! All you have to do is make the ricotta
- Gently heat the milk and cream in a medium pan until it starts to bubble
- Remove from the heat and stir in the lemon juice and salt, then leave the mixture to sit without stirring
- After 3-5 minutes the mixture will start to curdle. When this happens strain it through the cheesecloth into a sieve that is sitting over a bowl. Leave to drain further for 1 hour
- When ready to eat, lightly toast your bread and assemble the tartine; ricotta first topped with the cherry preserves
