Plum Crumb Tarte

Is it a cake or a tarte? This simple, moist and fabulous dessert can be either!

Ingredients

11/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
3 tbsp white sugar
11/2 tsp cinnamon
11/2 sticks salted butter, melted and cooled
1 – 11/2 cups New Canaan Farms Texas Red Plum Jam

SERVE WITH:
Vanilla Ice Cream

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350°
  • Lightly grease an 8″ round metal tarte pan (with a removable bottom)
  • Mix together your dry ingredients: flour, brown sugar and cinnamon. Cut in the butter and mix in with your fingers until you get a crumbly mixture
  • Add half of the mixture to the base of the pan, and top with half of the plum jam, dolloping it in as best you can (it’s pretty much impossible to spread evenly!)
  • Top with the remaining crumb mixture, then dollop in the remaining jam
  • Bake for 30 minutes until the jam is bubbly and the crumb mixture lightly browned
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes before cutting into slices while still in the pan
  • Serve while still slightly warm, with vanilla ice cream
